Summary:

In this role, you will be required to fulfill the following primary responsibilities working as a key member of the Nourishing Africa team:

  • Assist in all aspects of the company's digital marketing activities.
  • Prepare accurate reports of the company's digital marketing activities and transform the raw data into actionable business insights.
  • Assist in coordinating communications logistics for the organization's events and programs.
  • Develop engaging online content for social media, including clickbait, articles, videos, graphics, and blurbs for the company's monthly social media calendar.
  • Work with the Communications Coordinator to build social media marketing strategies and execute such through competitive and audience research.
  • Source for industry experts to be involved with the various social media programs, such as Instagram lives, etc.
  • Assist in curating content for the weekly newsletters.
  • Monitor and report emerging trends and effective best practices in social media and email marketing tools, applications, channels, designs, and strategies.
  • Assist in editorial coverage for all Nourishing Africa offline and online engagements.
  • Research new media opportunities that may benefit the company.
  • Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies.
  • Carry out other responsibilities assigned by the management.

Description:

The organization is seeking to engage a Communications Support (Volunteer) who will be responsible for research, writing, and digital content creation, interested in gaining hands-on experience in the agriculture sector. The Volunteer will work closely with the Communications team. 

Desired Skills:

We are looking for candidates who are self-motivated, committed to excellence, with a passion for the agriculture sector. Below are key qualifications that we require:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the Arts or Social Sciences, especially English Language, Journalism, Communications or related discipline.
  • Possess strong and effective verbal, written, and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of multimedia and design including infographics, videos, and posters
  • Strong research skills, including primary and secondary research
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other related computer skills required
  • Proficient in the use of image, audio, and video editing tools
  • Strong organizational skills, time management skills, and attention to detail required.
  • Ability to work independently, be self-directed, and demonstrate initiative
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Knowledge of the entire Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
  • Fluency in French is a plus, but not required
