In this role, you will be required to fulfill the following primary responsibilities working as a key member of the Nourishing Africa team:

  • Assist in developing, editing, proof-reading, and publishing high-quality communications materials including op-eds, graphics, videos, podcasts, audio, video scripts, etc. for use on relevant platforms including the Nourishing Africa hub.
  • Identify content for the Hub (Funding, Events, Training, and Workshops)
  • Work with the Knowledge Manager to execute through competitive and audience research.
  • Source for industry experts to be involved with various events and speaking engagements.
  • Conduct industry-related research and interviews.
  • Assist in editorial coverage for all Nourishing Africa offline and online engagements 
  • Conduct online surveys and advocacy activities. 
  • Research new media opportunities that may benefit the business. 
  • Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies. 
  • Carry out other responsibilities assigned by the management. 


About Nourishing Africa

Nourishing Africa is a digital knowledge and membership platform focused on supporting African agriculture and food entrepreneurs to scale their businesses through the provision of critical resources, tools, and opportunities. The organization’s activities cut across business development, capacity building, IT, media and communications, and program implementation.  


The organization is seeking to engage a Knowledge and Content Management Intern who will be responsible for research, writing, digital content creation, editing of podcast audios, and Identifying and curating industry experts for events and speaking engagements interested in gaining hands-on experience in the agriculture sector. The Intern will work closely with the Knowledge Management team.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

We are looking for candidates who are self-motivated, committed to excellence, with a passion for the agriculture sector. Below are key qualifications that we require:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the Arts or Social Sciences, especially English Language, Journalism, Communications or related discipline
  • Possess strong and effective verbal, written, and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of multimedia and design including infographics, videos, and posters
  • Strong research skills, including primary and secondary research
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other related computer skills required
  • Proficient in the use of audio, and video editing tools
  • Strong organizational skills, time management skills, and attention to detail required.
  • Ability to work independently, be self-directed, and demonstrate initiative
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Knowledge of the entire Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
  • Fluency in French is a plus, but not required
