Summary:

Nourishing Africa is seeking to employ a Regional Coordinator (Francophone Africa) to join its team of young, dynamic professionals working to transform the agri-food industry in Africa. The Regional Representative is responsible for promoting and representing the interests of Nourishing Africa within their designated region. They will act as an essential link between Nourishing Africa members and partners and the Nourishing Africa office in Nigeria, driving membership engagement, advocacy, stakeholder collaboration and program implementation in the region. The Regional Coordinator will work remotely from their location and hence, needs excellent time management skills, constant power supply and reliable internet access.

Description:

In this role, you will be required to fulfill the following primary responsibilities working as a key member of the Nourishing Africa team:

  • Serve as the primary contact person for Nourishing Africa in Francophone countries in Africa
  • Drive subscription and engagement of existing and potential Nourishing Africa hub members in Francophone Africa
  • Coordinate, promote, and support Nourishing Africa activities across Francophone Africa
  • Proactively seek out partnership opportunities for Nourishing Africa, engage and work with partners in the region
  • Identify and propose new business opportunities in the region
  • Develop and implement strategies for the execution and scaling of Nourishing Africa programs and interventions for agri-SMEs in Francophone Africa
  • Conduct research and analysis on industry trends and developments, and produce advocacy and information materials such as letters, case studies, guides, articles, and newsletters in English and French
  • Ensure that the Francophone contributions and resources are developed/translated for the broader Nourishing Africa community
  • Provide region-specific industry updates, insights, feedback and recommendations
  • Organize and coordinate Francophone convenings, workshops and meetings as required
  • Represent Nourishing Africa at appropriate meetings and events
  • Prepare and submit weekly, quarterly and annual reports on country and regional engagements to the Management
  • Participate in all assigned administrative and supervisory functions and in staff and team meetings, training and staff development activities as scheduled

Desired Skills:

We are looking for candidates who are self-motivated, committed to excellence, with a passion for the agriculture sector. Below are key qualifications that we require:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Business, Social Sciences, Agriculture or other related fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ professional experience working with a reputable firm in a related role in the agriculture sector
  • Professional proficiency in English and French
  • Extensive networks in the agriculture and business landscape in Francophone Africa
  • Outstanding networking skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proven programme planning and management skills
  • Excellent oral, written, and public communication skills
  • Experience working with diverse populations
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional team members
  • Demonstrable research skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Excellent problem solving and attention to detail
  • Willingness to participate in field activities/surveys and travel to remote areas within the region
  • Proficient in MS office suite
  • Willing and able to travel
