The organization is seeking to engage a  Software Developer Intern who will be responsible for contributing to the software design and software development activities. The intern will collaborate with other team members in creating secure and reliable software solutions. The Intern will work closely with the IT team.


In this role, you will be required to fulfill the following responsibilities working as a key member of the Nourishing Africa team:

  • Collaborate with other software engineers and appropriate team members to learn how to design each product's functionality and user interface.
  • Must be open to learning Full-stack software design using both front-end and back-end coding languages, development frameworks, and third-party libraries.
  • Assist in project planning and architectural design reviews.
  • Must be a fast learner and be open to mentorship by other developers on programming issues.
  • Work with the development team to ensure consistency in processes and completion of deliverables among team members.
  • Exhibit learning Enthusiasm in cross-functional development practices.
  • Skilled computer programmer who is comfortable with both front-end and back-end programming.
  • Developing front-end website architecture.
  • Designing user interactions on web pages.
  • Ensuring cross-platform optimization for mobile phones.
  • Ensuring responsiveness of applications.

Desired Skills:

We are looking for candidates who are self-motivated, committed to excellence, with a passion for the agriculture sector. Below are key requirements that we require:

  • Intending or current Corps Members with a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Electrical, Computer, and Systems Engineering.
  • Minimum of 6 months programming experience.
  • Proficiency in PHP/Laravel, or Javascript/Node.js.
  • Basic understanding of MySQL
  • Experience with Git.
  • Applicants should be ready to show previous work preferably on GitHub.
  • Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS(bootstrap), and JavaScript.
  • The use of versioning tools is a plus.
  • UI/UX preferably with Figma is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.

  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience with Vue JS, or React JS is an added advantage.
  • An excellent team player.
