Summary:

Nourishing Africa seeks to employ a UI/UX Designer to join its team of young, dynamic professionals working to transform the agri-food industry in Africa. The candidate must have a passion for finding customer-centric solutions. You will work with cross-functional team members and will be required to utilize both qualitative and quantitative data to make informed decisions.

Description:

In this role, you will be required to fulfil the following primary responsibilities working as a key member of the Nourishing Africa team:

• Collaborate with the software development team to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals and experience
• Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
• Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user-friendliness to complex design roadblocks
• Design graphic user interface elements, including menus, tabs and widgets
• Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to web developers
• Develop UI mockups and prototypes
• Create original graphic designs
• Facilitate research and design for delivering key product enhancements that best address users' needs
• Set design requirements based on information from internal teams and user research
• Modify and revise existing designs to meet changing consumer preferences
• Use product usage data for informed decision making
• Identify and troubleshoot UX problems
• Create and manage a product backlog and prioritize features for development  
• Present product design ideas to cross-functional teams and the organization leadership
• Recommend new tools and technologies by staying abreast of the latest trends and techniques 
• Plan and execute testing (user testing, A/B testing), synthesize large volumes of data, and discover patterns

We are looking for candidates who are self-motivated, committed to excellence, with a passion for the agriculture sector. Below are key qualifications that we require:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, IT, Engineering, or a related field
• A firm grasp of market trends and consumer preferences
• Excellent eye for aesthetic design and customer appeal
• Cross-platform design experience (Web, Mobile, Tablet)
• Proven experience in all phases of the design process including user research, copywriting, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, interaction design, and usability testing
• Experience with design programs including Illustrator, Photoshop, Figma or Sketch
• Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
• Ability to collect, interpret, and use both qualitative and quantitative feedback
• Mastery and application of colour, space, typography, iconography, illustration, and UX laws
• Ability to effectively communicate design concepts
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional team members
• Knowledge of Html, CSS, and JavaScript 
• Available to start immediately
