Swiss Forum for International Agricultural Research — SFIAR Award 2022

SFIAR annually awards a prize to scientists working at or in association with a Swiss institution in agricultural research for development. For 2022, the best team project will be awarded CHF5 thousand, and the best masters thesis CHF1 thousand. To be eligible, research must have been carried out at or in close collaboration with a Swiss institution.

Baywa Smart Farming Challenge
Agri Tech and Digital Services Mechanization On Farm Production (crops, livestock)

The Smart Farming Challenge, sponsored by BayWa, seeks innovative solutions that use new technologies, ideas and products to support sustainable agriculture and horticulture. BayWa is interested in digital solutions that combine satellite data and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning to support pasture management, early crop disease identification, and/or yield prediction in horticulture. The winner of the smart farming challenge receives €5 thousand, mentoring, access to field trials and access to BayWa agribusiness and agri-organization networks.

Soest Third World Group Foundation — Small-Scale Development Project

The Soest Foundation, based in the Netherlands, supports small-scale development projects for water, agriculture, aquaculture, and other needs of the very poor. The average contribution to a project is about €2,500 to €3,000. Project assistance is provided for up to three years. Many recent grants are in Sub-Saharan Africa and India, but there are no geographical restrictions. Applications can be made in English or French.
